Engagement & lead capture
Turn an outage into a mailing-list opt-in and notify users when you recover.
An outage is a rare moment when a user is paying full attention. Engagement & lead capture turns that moment into an opt-in: your branded page can offer to email the user the instant you're back, and you keep the address.
Engagement hooks are a paid feature. On the Free plan the email form is hidden and capture is disabled.
How it works
- Your branded page shows a short "notify me when it's fixed" form.
- A user enters their email. The SDK posts it to error.page, attached to the most recent active incident for that project.
- The capture appears on the incident in your dashboard, and counts toward the Leads captured metric.
Where captures live
Open any incident to see the list of emails captured during it, with timestamps. Captures are stored against the incident's engagement data, so you always know which outage drove which sign-ups.
Notifying users on recovery
When an incident auto-resolves, the users who opted in are emailed a "we're back" note. To send those from your own domain (e.g. status@yourcompany.com) instead of error.page, configure a custom sending domain.
Exporting
Captured emails are yours. You can review them per-incident in the dashboard; contact support for a bulk export if you need to push them into your mailing tool.
CTA tracking
Beyond email capture, clicks on your page's call-to-action button are counted too, so you can see how many users you successfully redirected (to your status page, support, or homepage) rather than losing.
Privacy
- Capture only happens when the user actively submits the form.
- The redirect target for your CTA is taken from your stored configuration, never from a URL parameter, so the page can't be abused for open redirects.
- Only your account can see the emails captured for your projects.
